A deep learning‐enabled toolkit for the 3D segmentation of ventricular cardiomyocytes
Abstract figure legend 3D cardiomyocyte segmentation enables comprehensive analyses of myocardial microstructure in health and disease; however, it is technically demanding. We present an open‐source toolkit for this task, which reduces challenges associated with sample preparation, image restoration, segmentation and proofreading.

Emergent Chemical Reactivity and Complexity of RNA Condensates
RNA condensates capable of substrate enrichment and catalysis modulate their environment. Could this start a catalytic selection loop or evolution? Abstract The RNA world hypothesis posits the existence of life‐like assemblies that consisted mostly of RNA.

Selection of Host Plasma Membrane Lipids by HIV‐1 Gag Protein
Enrichment of sphingomyelin in the HIV‐1 envelope arises from Gag binding to PI(4,5)P2, which triggers reorganization of plasma membrane sphingomyelin/cholesterol domains through unknown mechanisms. We propose that cholesterol‐mediated interleaflet coupling between sphingomyelin and PI(4,5)P2, rather than interdigitation, underlies Gag‐induced lipid ...

Abstract Curli, which are the major proteinaceous components of the Escherichia coli biofilm extracellular matrix, help protect cells against environmental stressors, including dehydration and antibiotics. Composed of the amyloid proteins CsgA and CsgB, curli self‐assemble as these protomers are secreted into the extracellular space.

A Photoswitchable HaloTag for Spatiotemporal Control of Fluorescence in Living Cells
Photoswitchable fluorophores are critical for advanced bioimaging. Here, we develop a photoswitchable self‐labeling HaloTag that can reversibly modulate the emission of a bound fluorogenic dye via a light‐induced conformational change. In living cells, this tunable chemigenetic system enables precise spatiotemporal activation and control of emitter ...
