Preparation of inorganic-polymer nano-emulsion inhibitor for corrosion resistance of steel reinforcement for concrete

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2023
In this work, the effect of inorganic–organic corrosion inhibitor composition on corrosion inhibition rate was studied through electrochemical accelerated corrosion experiments and ambient atmosphere corrosion experiments.

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

Texturing polymer surfaces by transfer casting [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
A technique for fabricating textured surfaces on polymers without altering their surface chemistries is described. A surface of a fluorocarbon polymer is exposed to a beam of ions to texture it.

Deemo: a new technology for the fabrication of microstructures [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The recent innovations in dry etching make it a promising technology for the fabrications of micromoulds. The high aspect ratios, directional freedom, low roughness, high etch rates and high selectivity with respect to the mask material allow a versatile

One-step preparation and characterization of an imidazolium-contained fluorocarbon surfactant and its potential application in aqueous film-forming foam

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Research
Preparing fluorocarbon surfactant for aqueous film-forming foam is a complex process. Overcoming steric hindrance when introducing imidazolium to the fluorocarbon chain is a key challenge.

Residual‐Lithium‐to‐LiF Conversion Enables a LiF–Fluorinated Carbon Interphase for Reconstruction‐Resistant Ni‐Rich Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fluorine‐rich acrylate monomer (PFHEA) was solvent‐free applied to NCM90 and thermally decomposed under Ar to convert residual lithium into LiF and form a pre‐built LiF/fluorinated amorphous carbon (LiF/FC) interphase. The LiF/FC layer suppresses NiO rock‐salt reconstruction and microcrack propagation, lowers interfacial resistance, and improves Li ...

Mapping Nanoscale Protein‐Corona Kinetics of DoE‐Optimized Perfluorocarbon Encapsulated‐PLGA Nanoparticles by In Situ, Time‐Resolved Synchrotron SAXS

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

Pyrolysis of fluorocarbon polymers

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Bureau of Standards Section A: Physics and Chemistry, 1961
The thermal decomposition of various fluorocarbon polymers were investigated; volatile products of the decomposition were determined along with the overall rates of volatilization, and from these rates the activation energies were calculated for the thermal degradation reactions.

Electrically Assisted Thermal Stamping of Tunable Carbon‐Based Nanofilms for Direct Fabrication of Hydrophobic, Energy Harvesting, and Sensing Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the electrically assisted thermal stamping (EATS) method for direct fabrication of carbon‐based nanofilms and their multifunctional applications. Localized Joule heating triggers simultaneous exfoliation, reduction, and fluoropolymer incorporation under ambient conditions, yielding tunable carbon‐based thin‐film coatings ...
