Weakly-coupled IIA flux compactifications [PDF]
We study compactifications of type IIA string theory on Calabi-Yau manifolds that are mirror to a subset of the type IIB LARGE-volume models. A combination of flux, alpha' corrections and non-perturbative effects stabilises the moduli in a non-supersymmetric AdS vacuum.

Comments on heterotic flux compactifications [PDF]
In heterotic flux compactification with supersymmetry, three different connections with torsion appear naturally, all in the form $ +a H$. Supersymmetry condition carries $a=-1$, the Dirac operator has $a=-1/3$, and higher order term in the effective action involves $a=1$. With a view toward the gauge sector, we explore the geometry with such torsions.

𝒩 = 1 SCFTs from F-theory on Orbifolds
We study four-dimensional superconformal field theories living on the worldvolume of D3 branes probing minimally-supersymmetric F-theory backgrounds, focusing on the case of orbi-orientifold setups with and without 7-branes.

Conifold Transitions in M-theory on Calabi-Yau Fourfolds with Background Fluxes [PDF]
We consider topology changing transitions for M-theory compactifications on Calabi-Yau fourfolds with background G-flux. The local geometry of the transition is generically a genus g curve of conifold singularities, which engineers a 3d gauge theory with

Compactifications of ADE conformal matter on a torus
In this paper we study compactifications of ADE type conformal matter, N M5 branes probing ADE singularity, on torus with flux for global symmetry. We systematically construct the four dimensional theories by first going to five dimensions and studying ...

Threshold corrections in heterotic flux compactifications
We compute the one-loop threshold corrections to the gauge and gravitational couplings for a large class of N = 2 $$ \mathcal{N}=2 $$ non-Kähler heterotic compactifications with three-form flux, consisting in principal two-torus bundles over K3 surfaces.

Flux compactifications grow lumps
The simplest flux compactifications are highly symmetric---a $q$-form flux is wrapped uniformly around an extra-dimensional $q$-sphere. In this paper, we investigate solutions that break the internal SO($q+1$) symmetry down to SO$(q)\times\mathbb Z_2$; we find a large number of such lumpy solutions, and show that often at least one of them has lower ...

No-go theorems for ekpyrosis from ten-dimensional supergravity
In this note we investigate whether the new ekpyrotic scenario can be embedded into ten-dimensional supergravity. We use that the scalar potential obtained from flux compactifications of type II supergravity with sources has a universal scaling with ...
