MHD waves generated by high-frequency photospheric vortex motions [PDF]
In this paper, we discuss simulations of MHD wave generation and propagation through a three-dimensional open magnetic flux tube in the lower solar atmosphere.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A quadratic programming approach for decomposing steady-state metabolic flux distributions onto elementary modes [PDF]
Motivation: It is known that steady-state flux distributions in metabolic networks can be expressed as non-negative combinations of elementary modes. However, little understanding has been achieved so far in how individual elementary modes contribute to ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

A simple model for the time evolution of the condensation sink in the atmosphere for intermediate Knudsen numbers [PDF]
Transformation of the mass flux towards the particle from the kinetic regime to the continuum regime is often described by the Fuchs–Sutugin coefficient.

Sliding Mode Flux Observer of Induction Motor
This paper deals with the sliding mode theory for direct torque and flux controlled (DTFC) induction motor drive. The aim of this paper is implementation of sliding mode theory for design of robust sensorless control of the drive with DTFC. This contribution describes proposed control and flux observer as well as presents simulation results and ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
