The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

A Study on Flux Contributions of Turbulent Coherent Structures over Forest Underlying Surfaces Using the CEEMD Method [PDF]

open access: yesGaoyuan qixiang
In order to study the turbulent coherent structure characteristics under the complex underlying surface of forests, three-layer turbulence data set up at 1.33 times, 2.53 times, and 3.86 times canopy degrees in the artificial forest area of Mount Si E in

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Maxwell perturbations in a cavity with Robin boundary conditions: two branches of modes with spectrum bifurcation on Schwarzschild black holes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2021
We perform a systematic study of the Maxwell quasinormal spectrum in a mirror-like cavity following the generic Robin type vanishing energy flux principle, by starting with the Schwarzschild black holes in this paper. It is shown that, for black holes in

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Two-dimensional numerical experiments of convection. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
PhDI report the results of numerical studies of 2-dimensional fully compressible convection of a fluid in which the dependence of the radiative conductivity on temperature T is taken as K, (V + aT -5)1 so that central regions of the layer are unstable ...

Understanding the adaptive growth strategy of Lactobacillus plantarum by in silico optimisation.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2009
In the study of metabolic networks, optimization techniques are often used to predict flux distributions, and hence, metabolic phenotype. Flux balance analysis in particular has been successful in predicting metabolic phenotypes.

Wave modes in a magnetic flux sheath

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1978
The symmetric wave modes of a two-dimensional magnetic flux sheath embedded in a compressible isothermal but nongravitational atmosphere are investigated under more general conditions than those considered earlier by Cram and Wilson. Both two-dimensional ''taut wire'' and pulsation modes are considered, and explicity solutions are obtained when the ...
