The pigments of fly agaric, Amanita muscaria

Tetrahedron, 1979
Abstract The history of the investigation of the pigments of the toadstool Amanita muscaria is reviewed. Earlier studies are shown to be incorrect and now the pigments are demonstrated to be structurally related to the betalains (2 and 3). The elucidation of the constitutions of yellow muscaflavin (12a), the orange muscaurins (Scheme 3), and purple ...

Beringian origins and cryptic speciation events in the fly agaric (Amanita muscaria)

Molecular Ecology, 2005
Abstract Amanita muscaria sensu lato has a wide geographic distribution, occurring in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and North, Central and South America. Previous phylogenetic work by others indicates three geographic clades (i.e. ‘Eurasian’, ‘Eurasian‐alpine’ and ‘North American’ groups) within A. muscaria.

Theoretical and experimental NMR studies on muscimol from fly agaric mushroom (Amanita muscaria)

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2016
In this article we report results of combined theoretical and experimental NMR studies on muscimol, the bioactive alkaloid from fly agaric mushroom (Amanita muscaria). The assignment of (1)H and (13)C NMR spectra of muscimol in DMSO-d6 was supported by additional two-dimensional heteronuclear correlated spectra (2D NMR) and gauge independent atomic ...

Radiocaesium pollution of fly agaric Amanita muscaria in fruiting bodies decreases with developmental stage

Isotopes in Environmental and Health Studies, 2019
Amanita muscaria collected from a forested area in northern Poland in 2015 were analysed for activity concentrations of 137Cs and 40K. Total K concentration values were calculated from 40K data. Mushrooms were grouped in six fruiting bodies size classes regarding to their developmental stage. The 137Cs activity concentrations declined in A. muscaria as

Evidence for an up-regulation of the host and a down-regulation of the fungal phosphofructokinase activity in ectomycorrhizas of Norway spruce and fly agaric

New Phytologist, 1996
summaryFor an understanding of metabolic interactions in ectomycorrhizal associations it is essential to distinguish enzyme activities of the symbionts. For the ATP‐dependent phosphofructokinase (PFK) from ectomycorrhizas of fly agaric (Amanita muscaria (L.

Identification of the red and panther fly agaric for laboratory diagnosis of poisoning

Farmaciya (Pharmacy)
Introduction. Mushrooms of the genus Amanita are found worldwide and comprise approximately 1000 species, 100 of which are considered poisonous. Interest in Amanita mushrooms has increased particularly in the past 3–5 years due to the popularity of “microdosing” fly agarics and the medicinal use of Amanita muscaria (Amanita muscaria L.) and Amanita ...
