Microscopic Nuclear Structure and Reaction Calculations in the FMD Approach [PDF]

open access: greenProceedings of Science 2010, PoS(NICXI)017, 2010
We present here a first application of the Fermionic Molecular Dynamics (FMD) approach to low-energy nuclear reactions, namely the $^3$He($\alpha$,$\gamma$)$^7$Be radiative capture reaction. We divide the Hilbert space into an external region where the system is described as $^3$He and $^4$He clusters interacting only via the Coulomb interaction and ...

Questionnaire survey of foot and mouth disease (FMD) and of FMD control by vaccination in villages in northern Thailand

open access: bronzeRevue Scientifique et Technique de l'OIE, 1995
The authors describe a questionnaire survey of foot and mouth disease (FMD) and of FMD control by vaccination in sixty villages in northern Thailand. FMD was found to be common, with 90% of the villages surveyed reporting one or more outbreaks in the five years prior to interview, and 28% of villages reporting outbreaks every year.

Validation of Pretreatment Methods for the In-Process Quantification of Foot-and-Mouth Disease Vaccine Antigens

open access: yesVaccines, 2021
Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), caused by the FMD virus (FMDV), is controlled by vaccine policy in many countries. For vaccine potency, the content of intact virus particles (146S antigens) is critical, and the sucrose density gradient (SDG) fractionation ...

Expression of bovine interleukin 15 and evaluation of its biological activity in vitro [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World, 2015
Background/Aim: Recent studies have shown that interleukin-15 (IL-15)is a critical factor for the development and proliferation of CD8+ memory T cells. The aim of present study is to study the role bovine IL-15 (bIL-15)in activation pathway of bovine CD8+

Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus Serotype O Exhibits Phenomenal Genetic Lineage Diversity in India during 2018–2022

open access: yesViruses, 2023
In India, widespread foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) outbreaks occurred in 2021. The objective of this study was to identify genetic lineages and evaluate the antigenic relationships of FMD virus (FMDV) isolates gathered from outbreaks reported between 2019

Expression of biologically active bovine interleukin 7 and evaluating the activity in vitro [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World, 2016
Aim: Interleukin 7 (IL-7) is a ϒc family cytokine involved in the homeostatic proliferation and maintenance of immune cells. In the present study, we report the expression of bovine IL-7 (bIL-7) in Escherichia coli and evaluated for its biological ...

Comparison of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography with Sucrose Density Gradient Ultracentrifugation for the Quantification of Foot-and-Mouth Disease Vaccine Antigens

open access: yesVaccines, 2022
Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) causes substantial economic losses in the livestock industry. The protective immunizing component of the FMD virus (FMDV) is a ribonucleoprotein particle with a sedimentation coefficient of 146S.

Mutation of VP2 capsid protein of Foot-and-mouth disease virus and its expression in the insect cell system for increased thermostability [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Biotechnology, 2017
FMD is an economically devastating livestock disease of global importance. The disease is caused by FMD virus of genus Aphthovirus of family picornaviridae. It affects both domestic and wild cloven-hoofed animals.
