Studies on foam flooding for saline reservoirs after polymer flooding
Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2015Abstract Multiple betaine surfactant PSDA (penta sodium N, N′, N′′-dodecyl diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid) is a kind of Zwitterionic Gemini surfactants with three dodecyls, five carboxylic acid groups and three quaternary ammonium. It has higher surface activities such lower cmc, lower γ cmc , lower IFT and better foaming properties than ...

Mechanism Study on Foam Flooding for Daqing Reservoirs After Polymer Flooding
Abstract Polymer flooding has been carried out widely in Daqing oilfield. The average oil recovery was 53% and the water cut was more than 90% after polymer flooding. The remaining oil was highly dispersed in distributary channels. New EOR techniques with better profile control ability than polymer flooding need to be applied.

Study the Displacement Characteristics of Foam Flooding after Polymer Flooding on NMR
Through parallel cores with different permeability contrast, the displacement process of foam flooding after polymer flooding is experimental studied. Using the experiment technology of nuclear magnetic resonance, the fluid distribution in cores with different diameter was studied.

Experimental Research of Applicability Condition for Foam Flooding
A series of experiments were conducted according the formation condition of Bohai Oilfield, and applicability conditions and optimum parameters were gained. From economic considerations, foam injection volume should be from 0.3 to 0.5 PV. Applicable permeability ratio range of foam flooding is less than 15.

The Effect of Foam Stability on Foam Flooding Recovery
Petroleum Science and Technology, 2014The former studies have largely covered the factors affecting foam stability rather than the effect of foam stability on foam flooding. The authors present the results of a laboratory study of polymer enhanced foam flooding, including different gas/liquid ratio, injection time, and foam drainage half time t1/2, and, additionally, the foaming stability ...

Surfactants for CO2 Foam Flooding
Proceedings of SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1985ABSTRACT A great deal of information has been published on the use of surfactants in CO2 foam flooding applications. However, generally the chemical composition of the surfactant has not been specified and little work describing the relationship of surfactant chemical structure and physical properties to foaming agent performance has ...

Mathematical Modeling of Foam Flooding
SPE/DOE Enhanced Oil Recovery Symposium, 1990ABSTRACT In studying the flow of foam in unconsolidated porous media Khatib et al have shown that the destruction of foam lamellae depends on the gas/surfactant solution flowrates, fluid mobilities, and rock capillary pressure. This paper examines this flow regime, which we call the coalescence regime, in more detail.

Modelling of CO2-foam Core Flooding Experiments
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2021This work presents results from simulation of core-flooding experiments with several commercially available surfactants for CO2-foam stabilisation, potentially applicable for CO2 mobility control in CO2 storage operations. The simulations are run with a CO2 foam module for MRST, based on a foam effect model developed by Vassenden and Holt.

An Analytical Model of Foam Resistance Factor in Gas Foam Flooding
SPE Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition, 2015Abstract Gas foam flooding is an effective technique to improve recovery and it has been successfully applied in some low permeability oil reservoirs. Among all parameters, foam resistance factor is regarded as an important index to evaluate the gas shutoff and water shutoff capacity of foam system.
