We investigate the mechanical response of an aqueous foam, and its relation to the microscopic rearrangement dynamics of the bubble-packing structure. At rest, even though the foam is coarsening, the rheology is demonstrated to be linear. Under flow, shear-induced rearrangements compete with coarsening-induced rearrangements.

Catalytic chemical vapor deposition synthesis of single- and double-walled carbon nanotubes from α-(Al1−xFex)2O3 powders and self-supported foams [PDF]
An investigation of the potential interest of α-alumina–hematite foams, as opposed to powders, as starting materials for the synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by catalytic chemical vapor deposition method was performed.

Modeling polycrystals with regular polyhedra
Polycrystalline structure is of paramount importance to materials science and engineering. It provides an important example of a space-filling irregular network structure that also occurs in foams as well as in certain biological tissues.

Investigation of shear banding in three-dimensional foams [PDF]
We study the steady flow properties of different three-dimensional aqueous foams in a wide gap Couette geometry. From local velocity measurements through Magnetic Resonance Imaging techniques and from viscosity bifurcation experiments, we find that these

Operator Spin Foam Models [PDF]
The goal of this paper is to introduce a systematic approach to spin foams. We define operator spin foams, that is foams labelled by group representations and operators, as the main tool.

IMAGE ANALYSIS CHARACTERIZATION OF HIGHLY ORIENTED FREEZE-DRYING POROUS MATERIALS
Image analysis has been used as a potential tool for the characterization of the texture of ultramacroporous foams prepared by freeze-drying. It has been shown that this technique actually provides valuable information on the structure of this kind of ...

Synergistic Effect of Intumescent Flame Retardant and Organically Modified Montmorillonite on Flame-Retardant and Foaming Properties of High Density Polyethylene/Walnut Shell Powder Biocomposites [PDF]
The synergistic effects of organic montmorillonite (OMMT) and ammonium polyphosphate (APP) on flame retardant enhancement of High density polyethylene/walnut shell powder (HDPE/WSP) biocomposite were investigated by using the limiting oxygen index (LOI),
