Mechanisms of Scarring in Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis [PDF]
Background: Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a histologic pattern characterized by focal glomerular scarring, which often progresses to systemic and diffuse glomerulosclerosis.

Correlations of earthquake focal mechanisms [PDF]
SUMMARY We performed a statistical analysis of the Harvard catalogue of seismic moment tensor solutions. We investigated the distribution of hypocentres on focal spheres of earthquakes. The hypocentres are concentrated along fault planes; the hypocentre distribution does not significantly differ for earthquakes in different depth ranges.

Brain Mechanisms of Altered Consciousness in Focal Seizures
Consciousness is a central concept in epileptology, relevant to the understanding of both focal and generalized seizures. Within focal seizures, impairment of consciousness has long been considered as the main criterion differentiating complex partial ...

The frequency–magnitude statistics of 6527 earthquakes with 1.0 ≤ ml ≤ 5.7 and focal depths between 0 and 49 km in the Red Sea region between 1980 and 2021 show that the threshold magnitude, above which most of the Red Sea earthquakes are precisely ...

Focal mechanisms overview [PDF]
A new computer application is created to use graphical representation of seismological data sets namely focal mechanism data to help seismologist to minimize complexities, recognize trends, discover data patterns and finally to develop the hypotheses. These graphical representation views are widely used by seismologist to drive information out of its ...

Recent Seismicity in the Area of the Major, 1908 Messina Straits Earthquake, South Italy
High-quality non-linear hypocenter locations and waveform inversion focal mechanisms of recent, shallow earthquakes of the Messina Straits have allowed us to obtain the following main results: 1) seismicity has occurred below the east-dipping north ...
