Focused-electron-beam-induced-deposited cobalt nanopillars for nanomagnetic logic [PDF]

open access: yesNanotechnology, 2016
Nanomagnetic logic (NML) intends to alleviate problems of continued miniaturization of CMOS-based electronics, such as energy dissipation through heat, through advantages such as low power operation and non-volatile magnetic elements. In line with recent breakthroughs in NML with perpendicularly magnetized elements formed from thin films, we have ...

Ultrasmall Functional Ferromagnetic Nanostructures Grown by Focused Electron-Beam-Induced Deposition [PDF]

open access: yesACS Nano, 2011
We have successfully grown ultrasmall cobalt nanostructures (lateral size below 30 nm) by optimization of the growth conditions using focused electron-beam-induced deposition techniques. This direct-write nanolithography technique is thus shown to produce unprecedented resolution in the growth of magnetic nanostructures.

NanoSQUID magnetometry of individual cobalt nanoparticles grown by focused electron beam induced deposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We demonstrate the operation of low-noise nano superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) based on the high critical field and high critical temperature superconductor YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_7$ (YBCO) as ultra-sensitive magnetometers for single ...

Probing the magnetic moment of FePt micromagnets prepared by Focused Ion Beam milling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate the degradation of the magnetic moment of a 300 nm thick FePt film induced by Focused Ion Beam (FIB) milling. A $1~\mu \mathrm{m} \times 8~\mu \mathrm{m}$ rod is milled out of a film by a FIB process and is attached to a cantilever by ...

Localized deposition of pure platinum nanostructures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
© 2014 IEEE. Localized deposition of pure platinum nanostructures was achieved using a combination of focused electron beam induced processing (FEBID) of an inorganic platinum precursor and low temperature annealing in water vapour.
