The ‘follicular biopsy’ is an extension of the noninvasive ‘surface biopsy’ technique originated by Dawber and Marks. A quick-setting cyanoacrylate polymer is used to extract the contents of sebaceous follicles. The retrieved material can be examined histologically at the light or electron microscopic level.

We describe four patients with congenital follicular hyperkeratosis, of whom three also had pseudoacanthosis nigricans and two had facial abnormalities. Skin specimens were studied by light microscopy, autoradiography, histochemistry and scanning electron microscopy, and the results were compared with those from patients with keratosis pilaris.

Follicular lymphomas constitute approximately 30% of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas. These lymphomas are characterized by at least partially follicular growth pattern, but diffuse areas may be present. The proportions of follicular or diffuse areas vary also from case to case, which seems to be associated with prognosis.

This is a report on ten patients with follicular psoriasis. Two distinct clinical types could be distinguished. An adult form, seen especially in women, presented with widespread psoriasis in which follicular lesions occurred on both thighs as part of the efflorescence.

Follicular mucinosis is a histologic term for a reaction pattern in follicular epithelium. Although it is the sine qua non for alopecia mucinosa as a disease sui generis, it may occur in a variety of unrelated conditions, which may be inflammatory, hamartomatous, hyperplastic, or neoplastic. Follicular mucinosis is rare in plaque and nodular lesions of

Experimental extra‐follicular histogenesis of follicular cysts
Journal of Oral Pathology & Medicine, 1987An animal model has been developed in which implantation cysts have been produced very close to developing teeth within the jaws of Vervet monkeys. Various deciduous teeth were extracted from both the maxilla and the mandible of 6 young Vervel monkeys.

Follicular malignant melanoma (FMM) is a rare variant of melanoma arising on sun-damaged skin of elderly patients. It is characterized histopathologically by a prominent involvement of 1 or 2 adjacent hair follicles. The authors report 3 new cases of FMM (M:F = 2:1; age range, 23-67 years; median age, 50 years) located on the scalp, cheek, and upper ...

Because ovarian follicular growth occurs in three dimensions, and because follicular maturation (increased E(2)) is a result of an increase in the three-dimensional follicular surface area where testosterone (E(2) precursor)-producing theca interna cells are located, the three-dimensional follicular volume and the three-dimensional follicular surface ...
