FOLLICULAR FLUID [PDF]

open access: yesReproduction, 1974
Follicular fluid is composed partly of secretions from the follicle, and partly of exudates from plasma. Its composition reflects changes in the secretory processes of the granulosa layer and theca interna, and alterations in the components of plasma due to physiological or pathological processes.

Clinical characteristics associated with the finding of thyroid cancer originating from hot nodules in patients with hyperthyroidism: a case report and systematic review of the literature

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Cirugía, 2021
Coexistence between thyroid cancer and hyperthyroidism is rare, and most of the nodular lesions from which a malignant tumor is documented in this group of patients correspond to cold nodules.

Follicular thyroid lesions: is there a discriminatory potential in the computerized nuclear analysis?

open access: yesEndocrine Connections, 2018
Background: Computerized image analysis seems to represent a promising diagnostic possibility for thyroid tumors. Our aim was to evaluate the discriminatory diagnostic efficiency of computerized image analysis of cell nuclei from histological materials ...

Changes in expression of TNF alpha and its receptors mRNAs in oocytes and granulosa cells in mice with experimental immune ovarian failure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Purpose: To investigate the expression of TNF- α and its receptors (types I and II) at mRNA level in oocytes and granulose cells as well as to study effect of TNF-α on follicular cell death in mice with experimental immune ovarian failure induced by ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Follicular CD8+ T Cells: Origin, Function and Importance during HIV Infection

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2017
The lymphoid follicle is critical for the development of humoral immune responses. Cell circulation to this site is highly regulated by the differential expression of chemokine receptors.

Immunohistochemical Distinction of Follicular Thyroid Adenomas and Follicular Carcinomas [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery, 2008
To use immunohistochemical (IHC) evaluation of proteins encoded by genes that were differentially expressed in follicular thyroid adenomas (FAs) vs follicular thyroid carcinomas (FTCs) to distinguish benign vs malignant follicular thyroid lesions. Multiple gene microarray studies suggest that benign and malignant follicular thyroid neoplasms have ...

Combined 5‐aminolevulinic acid and ferric ammonium citrate treatment promotes hair follicle growth by activating dermal papilla cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
5‐Aminolevulinic acid combined with ferric ammonium citrate (5‐ALA/FAC) stimulates dermal papilla cell activity and promotes hair follicle growth. The treatment enhances ERK and AKT signaling, increases hair‐inductive gene expression, and restores dermal papilla function suppressed by dihydrotestosterone and oxidative stress, resulting in enhanced hair
