A Brain‐Wide Atlas of Astrocytic Oxytocin Receptors Reveals a Glial Basis for Nucleus Accumbens Modulation of Affiliative Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The cellular actors of oxytocin signaling are under intense scrutiny. A brain‐wide anatomical and functional analysis in mice and rats reveals widespread expression of oxytocin receptors in astrocytes. These receptors are functionally active and, in the nucleus accumbens, selectively regulate male social affiliation.

Testing of food contact materials in the Netherlands

Food Additives and Contaminants, 1988
An outline is presented of food contact materials testing as practised with the Center of Expertise of the Food Inspection Services’ organization of the Netherlands. Attention is focused on a new approach for screening food contact materials for the necessity of performing specific migration.

Materials in Contact with Food

British Food Journal, 1992
Discusses the difficulties facing enforcement authorities, manufacturers and users in this new law area; the implications of which are only now becoming apparent. Is the way forward a “guide to compliance” agreed between the trade and enforcement agencies and the implementation of quality systems?

Food Contact Materials

Abstract This chapter covers the EU legislation on food contact materials (FCM). It outlines the regulatory framework by discussing Regulation 1935/2004 on FCM (section 12.2) as well as Regulation (EC) 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practices (GMPs) (section 12.3). In addition to examining the general regulations, the chapter also looks

Migration From Packaging and Food Contact Materials Into Foods

2018
Packaging is a key factor in food quality and safety as it provides protection and preservation through the food supply chain. However, packaging and other contact materials are also a potential source of food chemical contamination resulting from migration.

Hazards of Food Contact Material: Nanotechnologies and Nanomaterials

2014
The manipulation of molecules at the nanoscale (nanotechnologies) is not really a new technology in food production, but it is causing concern because of parallels drawn by some between the potential health effects of nanoparticles (NPs) and the known health effects of inhaled ultrafine air pollutants and pathogenic fibers (e.g., asbestos). From a food

[Safety of food contact materials].

Bundesgesundheitsblatt, Gesundheitsforschung, Gesundheitsschutz, 2010
For materials and articles intended to come in contact with food - particularly for substances from plastics (e.g., monomers, additives) - there are comprehensive European regulations based on toxicological evaluations. Other food contact materials, e.g., paper and rubber, are covered by resolutions established by the European Council without ...
