The Use of Polylactic Acid in Food Packaging

open access: yes, 2016
Polylactide polymers have gained a great attention in the last decade to replace the conventional synthetic polymers and as a growing alternative packaging material for demanding food market.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Effect of Different Oxygen Atmospheres on Color Stability of Modified Atmosphere Packaged Beef Using Non-Invasive Measurement

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The influence of a 1% oxygen atmosphere on the color stability of modified atmosphere packaged beef was investigated. Beef silverside slices were packed under 1%, 20%, and 70% oxygen atmospheres and stored at 2 °C for 14 days.

The Architecture of Sustainable University Foodscape. Design Strategies and Practices for Reshaping the Food-City Nexus

open access: yes
In recent decades food projects, practices and policies enacted by universities have multiplied, crossing the spheres of teaching, research and the third mission. However, the perspective of urban and architectural design still seems to be underestimated

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Influence of low oxygen concentrations on color stability of modified atmosphere packaged beef

open access: yesApplied Food Research
The influence of low oxygen concentrations on the development of color and the myoglobin redox states over storage time was analyzed, to determine whether there are conditions that increase discoloration.

ZSM-5 Filled Polyether Block Amide Membranes for Separating EA from Aqueous Solution by Pervaporation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Polymer Science, 2013
ZSM-5 filled polyether block amide membranes (PEBA), PEBA/ZSM-5, were prepared and used to recover aroma, ethyl acetate (EA), from aqueous solution by pervaporation (PV).

The role of humanitarian NGO's: impact on South Korean food aid policy towards North Korea from 1995 to 2007 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The existing literature has provided only a partial explanation of the political role of South Korean humanitarian non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in government food aid policy making towards North Korea between 1995 and 2007.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Preparation and Performance of Amphiphilic Random Copolymer Noncovalently Modified MWCNTs/Epoxy Composite

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2016
An amphiphilic random copolymer of polyglycidyl methacrylate-co-N-vinyl carbazole P(GMA-co-NVC) was synthesized by free radical polymerization and was used to noncovalently modify multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs).
