The challenge of a late diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder: co-occurring trajectories and camouflage tendencies. a case report of a young Autistic female with Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry
IntroductionAutistic individuals may show several psychiatric co-occurrences, including Feeding and Eating Disorders (FEDs). Avoidant and Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) consists of avoidance or restriction in food intake, leading to significant

Food passage and food selectivity of tench Tinca tinca (L.) larvae fed zooplankton [PDF]

open access: yesActa Ichthyologica et Piscatoria, 1999
The time of zooplankton passage through the gut of tench larvae and their food selectivity was studied on days 17 and 22 of tench larvae life. The gut passage was assessed with a marker method. The marker were Artemia nauplii.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Feeding Management in Autistic Children During Early Childhood: A Scoping Review

open access: yesChildren
Autistic children often experience eating difficulties due to sensory processing, food selectivity, and other eating behaviors. As a result, the feeding process can be particularly challenging for caregivers and professionals in healthcare and ...

Selected food verticals and their impact on prices of food products [PDF]

open access: yesAgricultural Economics (Zemědělská ekonomika), 2009
The article deals with the analysis of food market on the level of consumer prices structure, through the identification of margins in the selected food verticals and through the analysis of consumer behaviour associated with changes in prices and income of population. The article also discusses the factors which may affect the current growing trend in

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Food selectivity and processing by the cold-water coral Lophelia pertusa [PDF]

open access: yesBiogeosciences, 2016
Cold-water corals form prominent reef ecosystems along ocean margins that depend on suspended resources produced in surface waters. In this study, we investigated food processing of 13C and 15N labelled bacteria and algae by the cold-water coral Lophelia

Selected Viruses Detected on and in our Food [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Clinical Microbiology Reports, 2018
Purpose of Review: The purpose of this review is to provide an update on recent literature and findings concerning selected foodborne viruses. Two groups of viruses were selected: (a) the most important viruses contaminating food, based on numbers of publications in the last 5 years and (b) viruses infecting sources of food that might have an impact on

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.
