Food-web structure of seagrass communities across different spatial scales and human impacts. [PDF]
Seagrass beds provide important habitat for a wide range of marine species but are threatened by multiple human impacts in coastal waters. Although seagrass communities have been well-studied in the field, a quantification of their food-web structure and

Foundation species enhance food web complexity through non-trophic facilitation. [PDF]
Food webs are an integral part of every ecosystem on the planet, yet understanding the mechanisms shaping these complex networks remains a major challenge.

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Commonality in structure among food web networks [PDF]
A goal of this study was to determine similarities in structure among food webs that are otherwise disparate with regard to species, population, and size.

Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

Effect of parasitism on food webs: Topological analysis and goodness test of cascade model [PDF]
In this study, we used Pajek to analyze the effect of parasitism on food webs collected from Carpinteria Salt Marsh (CSM). Results showed that median and mean of generality and vulnerability for predator-prey and parasite-host sub-webs were greater than ...

Immunosuppressive Drug Use in Limited Systemic Sclerosis: An International Survey
Objective Current guidelines recommend immunosuppressive treatment for diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis but are less clear on their use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) in the absence of internal organ complications. We conducted an international survey to understand current immunosuppressive drug prescribing patterns in lcSSc ...
