Metal‐Half‐Salen Chemistry for One‐Pot Mineralization on Hydrophobic Polymer Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here we report a versatile one‐pot synthetic strategy for organic–inorganic composite membranes, which leverages a metal half‐Salen system to precisely govern the competing kinetics of coordination and hydrolysis. In contrast to conventional two‐step metal‐phenol chemistries, our integrated approach substantially simplifies the fabrication process ...

AI Designed Conformation Locking Peptides Target STING to Restore Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A generative AI pipeline identifies SCP‐1, a conformation‐locking peptide that stabilizes inactive STING. Incorporated into a dual‐responsive hydrogel for localized, MMP‐9‐triggered release, SCP‐1 suppresses inflammation, promotes reparative macrophage polarization, and accelerates diabetic wound healing.

Endothelial YAP Signaling Promotes Blood‐Spinal Cord Barrier Repair in Mice After Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Endothelial YAP is required for blood‐spinal cord barrier repair after spinal cord injury. YAP‐dependent vascular repair is associated with ANGPT1/PI3K/AKT signaling in vivo and may involve endothelial‐pericyte paracrine interactions. By supporting vascular remodeling, tight junction restoration, restored pericyte coverage, and astrocyte‐vascular ...

Soft Hypoxia‐Adaptive Bioelectronics Integrating PEDOT:PSS/Polydopamine/Enzyme Biocomposites for Closed‐Loop Therapeutics of Chronic Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hypoxia‐adaptive bioelectronics based on poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS)/polydopamine (PDA)/enzyme biocomposites couple O2‐centric biosensing with embedded O2 therapy to address oxygen‐deficient chronic wounds. Local O2 provision restores enzyme‐based metabolite sensing, while catalase‐mediated oxygen generation and

Correlating foot posture with foot mobility using a high-accuracy foot measurement system

open access: yes2019 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC), 2019
The Foot Posture Index (FPI) has in recent years become one of the most useful foot posture assessment tools due to its proven high reliability and validity. The main advantage of the FPI over other foot posture assessment techniques is the ability to provide a multi-segment analysis of the foot from six different foot components.

Posture of the foot: Don’t keep it out of sight, out of mind in knee osteoarthritis

open access: yesGait and Posture, 2018
PubMedID: 30176381Background: There are many contributors of knee osteoarthritis including the postural abnormalities of the adjacent joints. The relationship between foot posture and the clinical-radiological parameters of knee osteoarthritis is poorly ...

Reliability of the Modified Foot Posture Index

Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association, 2008
Background: The Foot Posture Index (FPI) has been advocated as a simple and convenient tool to assess static foot posture in a clinical setting. Although published studies have indicated that the FPI has good intrarater reliability and moderate interrater reliability, these studies were conducted on a previous ...

The Foot Posture Index

Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association, 2013
Background: The Foot Posture Index (FPI) quantifies foot posture on the basis of six criteria. Although the male foot is longer and broader than the female foot, limited evidence exists about the differences in foot posture between the sexes and which are its biological and anthropometric determinants. We sought
