Influence of foot posture on the functioning of the windlass mechanism
The Foot, 2017The absence of a functioning windlass mechanism may delay re-supination of the foot during locomotion and put excess stress on the mid-tarsal joint and soft tissues of the foot. The purpose of this study was to describe the foot posture of individuals that have an impaired or absent windlass mechanism.

Does Foot Placement Affect the Reliability of Static Foot Posture Measurements?
Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association, 2014Background Previous studies have reported conflicting results on whether different foot placements in standing can affect static measurements of foot posture. We sought to determine whether three measurements of static foot posture could be consistently measured in three different foot ...

Postural constraints to coupling of ipsilateral hand–foot movements
NeuroReport, 2005Ipsilateral hand and foot are easily coupled in isodirectional oscillations, while antidirectional coupling is difficult or even impossible. It was recently suggested that differences between the two types of coupling depend on the interaction of postural mechanisms with voluntary movement. We report here that when standing in an upright position, with

The foot posture index is a static measurement that splits up the foot posture into neutral, pronatus and supinatus. However, the relation between the foot posture and the plantar pressure standards is not well known. For this, the objective of this research is to check the relationship between the foot posture and plantar pressure standard.
