AI Designed Conformation Locking Peptides Target STING to Restore Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A generative AI pipeline identifies SCP‐1, a conformation‐locking peptide that stabilizes inactive STING. Incorporated into a dual‐responsive hydrogel for localized, MMP‐9‐triggered release, SCP‐1 suppresses inflammation, promotes reparative macrophage polarization, and accelerates diabetic wound healing.

Exploiting Temperature Effects for Robust Control and Reference Circuits Using Thin‐Film Contact‐Controlled Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Compact circuits based on contact‐controlled transistors are well‐suited to unsupervised thermal management, sensitive temperature measurement, or temperature‐stable current references. Demonstrated on flexible microcrystalline silicon and supported by simulation, the approach does not require supply voltage regulation, remains manufacturable across ...

Accelerating Primary Screening of USP8 Inhibitors from Drug Repurposing Databases with Tree‐Based Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This study introduces a tree‐based machine learning approach to accelerate USP8 inhibitor discovery. The best‐performing model identified 100 high‐confidence repurposable compounds, half already approved or in clinical trials, and uncovered novel scaffolds not previously studied. These findings offer a solid foundation for rapid experimental follow‐up,

The Relationship between Controlling HbA1C and Infectious Foot Ulcer

open access: yesمجله دانشکده پزشکی اصفهان, 2012
Background: One of the major risk factors of foot ulcer is uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (DM) or in fact uncontrolled HbA1C. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between controlling HbA1C and foot ulcer.

Fibroblasts in Diabetic Foot Ulcers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences
Fibroblasts are stromal cells ubiquitously distributed in the body of nearly every organ tissue. These cells were previously considered to be “passive cells”, solely responsible for ensuring the turnover of the extracellular matrix (ECM). However, their versatility, including their ability to switch phenotypes in response to tissue injury and dynamic ...

Microfluidic Valve‐Integrated Garment for Smooth Sequential Gradient Mechanotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
We present a soft wearable sleeve that delivers smooth, gap‐free compression using overlapping air‐filled actuators and tiny microfluidic valves. The system reduces bulk, lowers power needs, and uses a smartphone‐sized control box. It can provide sequential gradient compression, gradient pressure holding, and fast deflation, supporting more portable ...

Cooptimized Sensing and Sole Mechanics Enable Embodied‐Intelligence Design of User‐Specific Smart Footwear

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An embodied codesign framework for smart footwear is presented, jointly tuning lattice mechanics and sensing for personalized plantar pressure monitoring. By integrating pneumatic sensing within 3D‐printed lattice soles, the system achieves accurate real‐time centre‐of‐pressure tracking with reduced sensor count and energy demand, demonstrating how ...

Accounting for animal health in efficiency analysis: An application to Swedish dairy farms

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Poor animal health is a central concern in modern livestock production. Despite the necessity to incorporate animal health in efficiency analysis, the theoretical and empirical developments are limited on this subject. This article appropriately characterizes the axiomatic properties of animal health within a production framework.

DRD2 Dopamine Receptor and IL-1β Gene Expression Changes Involved in Wound Healing in Type 2 Diabetic Patients with Foot Ulcer

open access: yesJournal of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, 2018
Background and purpose: Diabetic foot ulcer is a complication of type 2 diabetes. Various factors, such as changes in the level of cytokines (especially IL-1β) can interfere with the development of diabetic foot ulcer. Several factors affect the level of
