Effect of Different Levels of Tape Irrigation on Yield and Water Productivity of Tropical Alfalfa Cultivars

open access: yesعلوم آب و خاک, 2022
The present research was conducted to determine water stress tolerance and water productivity (WP) of 5 alfalfa cultivars as a split-plot design in a randomized complete block with 3 replications in the Safiabad Agriculture and Natural Resources Research

MODELING ANIMAL AND FORAGE RESPONSE TO FERTILIZATION OF ANNUAL RANGELANDS

open access: yes
The response functions for forage, animal gain, and stocking rate were estimated from data obtained in a three-year fertilization experiment on California annual range.

Patterns of spinal motion, kinematic spaces and the land‐to‐sea transition in carnivorans

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Using 3D reconstructions, we quantify intervertebral joint mobility to investigate how cervical, thoracic, and lumbar vertebral regions evolved distinct kinematic roles in pinnipeds. The findings reveal lineage‐specific adaptations for swimming and highlight the functional significance of vertebral joint flexibility in ecological transitions.

Endothermy, neuron counts, and other issues: Further remarks on neurocognitive evolution in fossil vertebrates

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Last year, we challenged the view that large‐bodied theropod dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus rex resembled primates in cognition and behavior, a proposition made by Herculano‐Houzel in 2023. More recently, Jensen et al. have criticized our work on this topic, raising methodological and conceptual issues.

Selection indexes for yield forage maize.

open access: yes, 2011
The objective of this research was to estimate selection indexes of agronomic traits that help in selecting the genetic material used in the production of forage, and evaluate the relative efficiency of the indexes estimated. We evaluated 28 direct crosses (Griffing’s method IV), the product of diallel crosses design with eight lines of high quality ...

Inter‐ and intraspecific variation in theropod dinosaur dental microwear and its palaeoecological implications

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Differences in skull and tooth morphology, stomach contents, and estimated bite force between medium‐to‐large sized (≥100 kg) predatory theropod dinosaurs have long been suspected to correlate with differences in their diets and dietary guilds (e.g., hypercarnivory, piscivory).

Line × Tester Analysis of Forage Yield and Plant Chraters of Forage Sorghum

open access: yesAlexandria Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2017
This study was conducted at Sakha Agric. Res. Station, A.R.C. during 2015 and 2016 seasons. Five lines (1- TX2-2, 2-TX3042, 3- 2002-39, 4- 2002-41 and 5- ICS 693) and three testers (1- Piper, 2- Giza1 and 3-Port said) were crossed in line xtesters analysis to investigate combing ability in forage sorghum which had fifteen genotypes of fodder sorghum ...

MANAGEMENT OF INTENSIVE FORAGE-BEEF PRODUCTION UNDER YIELD UNCERTAINTY

open access: yes
Forage production variability is incorporated into a decision theory framework for a beef producer in East Texas. The results suggest that the least risky, and also the most profitable, approach to intensive forage beef production is to plan for ...

Effect of fertilization on forage yield and quality, nutrients uptake and soil properties in the more intensive cropping system

open access: yes, 2010
The sudangrass (Sorghum sudanense) and ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.) rotation is a new and more intensive cropping system which has developed rapidly in recent years along Yangtze River in China.

Forage yield and quality in pigeonpea germplasm lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The forage yield and quality traits and their heritability estimates over 2003 and 2004 in India were observed. Two hundred pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan) germplasm lines were planted at ICRISAT, Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India during kharif (rainy) season ...
