Hungry for Knowledge: Octopamine Signaling Regulates Hunger‐Enhanced Olfactory Learning
Researchers demonstrate that hunger state facilitates both aversive and appetitive olfactory learning. Two distinct octopamine signaling pathways are involved in aversive or appetitive memory formation in the hunger state. And, hunger state also facilitates the formation of both types of memories via an evolutionarily conserved norepinephrine (the ...

Yield, forage quality, residue nitrogen and nitrogen fixation of different forage legumes [PDF]
Fixed nitrogen accumulated by legumes is the main nitrogen source for organic farming systems. Knowledge about the amount of fixed nitrogen, its pathways into forage yield, crop residues, soil-N and yield formation of the following crop is needed for ...

This study clarifies the genetic patterns of paternal lineages across East Asia and Mainland Southeast Asia. Han populations are relatively homogeneous, whereas southern ethnolinguistic minorities display regional structures. Shared Y‐chromosome lineages indicate Neolithic expansions and extensive north‐south gene flow, supporting demic diffusion ...

Dollars for Drops: Abatement Cost of Water for Irrigation in the Colorado River Basin
ABSTRACT The Colorado River is a lifeline for more than 40 million people in the western United States. However, with climate change diminishing snowpacks in the Rocky Mountains and increasing demands from agriculture and urban areas, the river's flow has become insufficient to meet all the competing needs.
