Study on Forced-air Pre-cooling of Longan

2007 Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 17-20, 2007, 2007
As the first operation in the cold-storage chain, pre-cooling is a key component in the modern circulation system of fruits and vegetables. A forced-air pre-cooling experimental device was established for researching temperature characteristic of Longan pre-cooling process.

Forced air cooling of open hearth roofs

Refractories, 1972
Using rig equipment a study was made of the temperature distribution across the thickness of a 460 mm periclase-spinel roof in an open hearth furnace in conditions of natural cooling, and also forced surface and deep cooling of the structure.

Forced Air Cooling With Synthetic Jet Ejectors

Advances in Electronic Packaging, Parts A, B, and C, 2005
This paper discusses the concept of synthetic jet ejectors for forced air cooling and some practical implementations of the same. Synthetic or “zero-mass-flux” jets, unlike conventional jets, require no mass addition to the system, and thus provide means of efficiently directing airflow across a heated surface. Because these jets are zero net mass flux

General formula of cooling curve for horticultural products on forced air pre‐cooling

Journal of Food Process Engineering, 2022
AbstractThe air velocity played a key role in controlling the cooling process of forced air pre‐cooling for horticultural products. However, the present general formula of cooling curve for horticultural products on forced air pre‐cooling did not reflect the influence of the air velocity on cooling rate for horticultural products on forced air pre ...

Forced-Air Cooling of Bell Peppers in Bulk

Transactions of the ASAE, 1977
ABSTRACT TEMPERATURE response, as a function of air velocity and position in load, was determined during cooling of bell peppers in bulk with 1.7 °C (35 °F) air. Data were analyzed to provide graphs and equations that can be used to predict mass average tempera-tures during cooling for any desired initial product temperature or cooling air temperature,

Forced-air Cooling Packaged Blueberries

Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 1996
Harvested blueberries, packaged in plastic covered 0.47-L (1-pt) fiber cups, arranged 12 cups to a corrugated master and palletized (96 masters to a pallet) were cooled with forced-air pulled horizontally through the stack. Air flow rates varied from 0.0011 to 0.0022 m3/s/kg (1.06 to 2.12 cfm/lb) of fruit.

Forced air convection cooled CO2 waveguide laser

Optics Communications, 1977
Abstract An experimental study on a forced air convection cooled type flowing CO 2 waveguide laser having a BeO discharge tube is reported. Effective cooling of the laser gas has been achieved by a heat sink constructed of 40 fins of 22 mm outer diameter, 12 mm base diameter and 1 mm thickness.

A dynamic model of forced-air cooling for therapeutic hypothermia

Proceedings of the 25th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37439), 2004
Induced mild hypothermia has been shown to have beneficial effects in neuroprotective and cardioprotective modes. Current methods require either improvised cooling systems or invasive techniques. In order to simplify, and thereby deliver therapy as safely and as quickly as possible, a high-efficiency forced-air cooling system has been developed.

Study on forced air convection cooling for electronic assemblies

Frontiers of Energy and Power Engineering in China, 2008
The slotted fin concept was employed to improve the air cooling performance of plate-fin in heat sinks. Numerical simulations of laminar heat transfer and flow pressure drop were conducted for the integral plate fin, discrete plate fin and discrete slotted fin heat sinks. It is found that the performance of the discrete plate fin is better than that of

Cooling characteristics of forced air convection in electronic cabinets

[1992 Proceedings] Intersociety Conference on Thermal Phenomena in Electronic Systems, 2003
Summary form only given. Air-cooled forced convection in vertical channels installed in electronic cabinets has been investigated experimentally and numerically. The heat transfer characteristics were determined experimentally and numerical simulation was performed using a finite-difference method for the electronic components based on the experimental
