Effect of forced swimming on c-Fos expression in the nucleus accumbens of control and exercised rats.

open access: yes, 2013
A and B show representative images of anti-c-Fos immuno-staining in an area of the nucleus accumbens dorso-lateral to the anterior commissure (AC). This area comprises parts of both the core and shell regions.

Ionic Precursors Transformed Into Vinyl Acetate Synthesis Catalyst via Reaction‐Driven Restructuring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that a simple physical mixture of Pd and Au ionic precursors, KOAc promoter, and SiO2 support can transform into a highly active vinyl acetate synthesis catalyst through reaction‐driven restructuring. The results highlight reaction‐induced restructuring as an innovative and sustainable catalyst design strategy.

Strong Lead‐Free Bioinspired Piezoceramics for Durable Energy Transducers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We fabricated brick‐and‐mortar lead‐free piezoceramics with Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 monocrystal platelets as bricks and amorphous silica as mortar. The alignment of the bricks and the presence of the amorphous silica led to anisotropic residual stresses. These residual stresses increase the samples toughness, strength and durability while the brick alignment ...

Effects of Magnesium Sulfate on Dynamic Changes in Blood Glucose Levels and Glucose Transporter-3 Expression in the Striatum during Short-term Forced Swimming in Gerbi

open access: yes, 2012
[[abstract]]In a previous study, we reported that when gerbils were subjected to a period of forced swimming, glucose levels and magnesium levels in the plasma became elevated. In addition, a pretreatment with magnesium sulfate increased the expression

Evaluation of Antidepressant-like Effect Lavandulifolia stachys in the Forced Swimming Test in Comparison with Imipramine and Fluoxetine

open access: yes, 2019
Depression is a global problem associated with multiple social and health issues. In the present study, we analyzed the antidepressant effects of Lavandulifolia stachys, an herbal planton forced swimming test (FST). In this study, 36 rats were used.

Modeling forced-choice response formats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
To counter response distortions associated with the use of rating scales in personality and similar assessments, test items may be presented in so-called ‘forced-choice’ formats.
