A proposal for refining the forced swim test in Swiss mice
The forced swim test (FST) is a preclinical test to the screening of antidepressants based on rats or mice behaviours, which is also sensitive to stimulants of motor activity. This work standardised and validated a method to register the active and passive behaviours of Swiss mice during the FST in order to strength the specificity of the test.

Additive manufacturing introduces pronounced microstructural and crystallographic anisotropy in Ni‐based superalloys, resulting in orientation‐dependent creep deformation and damage. This review identifies the key microstructural origins of creep anisotropy, examines their influence on dominant deformation mechanisms, and highlights processing ...

Oral self-administration of pregabalin in a mouse model and the resulting drug addiction features
Prescription drug abuse is an issue that is rapidly growing globally. Pregabalin, an anticonvulsant, analgesic, and anxiolytic medication, is effective in the management of multiple neurological disorders; however, there is increasing concern regarding ...

Electrodeposition in Structural Lattices of Variable Architectures
Electrodeposition enables geometry‐sensitive, autonomous void filling while simultaneously tuning chemical and mechanical properties. The development of approaches that can autonomously fill and heal material voids and yield composites with tailorable properties is increasingly relevant in engineering.

Synthesis and Antidepressant Activity Profile of Some Novel Benzothiazole Derivatives
Within the scope of our new antidepressant drug development efforts, in this study, we synthesized eight novel benzothiazole derivatives 3a–3h. The chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.

Psychomotor retardation in depression: A critical measure of the forced swim test
DSM-5 lists 9 different symptoms for major depressive disorder and dictates that either "depressed mood" or "loss of interest or pleasure" should be present for diagnosis. Both are relatively high-level symptoms of the complex affecto-cognitive disease.

This study explores the influences of calendering and surface treatment during direct ink writing (DIW) of thermochromic cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) on PET nonwovens. For the PVA‐coated nonwovens, calendering reduces pore size leading to reduced ink absorption and enhanced spreading. The NeverWet‐coated nonwovens improve thermochromic responses by

Glucocorticoids facilitate the retention of acquired immobility during forced swimming
The adrenalectomy-induced decrease in the level of immobility during a 5 min retest period in the Porsolt swimming test could be reversed by glucocorticoids administered s.c. 15 min after the initial forced swimming exposure.
