A Forensic Framework for Tracing Phishers [PDF]
Identity theft — in particular through phishing — has become a major threat to privacy and a valuable means for (organized) cybercrime. In this paper, we propose a forensic framework that allows for profiling and tracing of the agents involved in phishing networks. The key idea is to apply phishing methods against phishing agents.

TraceBase; A database structure for forensic trace analysis
A data structure is proposed that can store forensic data obtained by experts from different disciplines and acquired using different instruments. This data structure, called TraceBase, is congruent with the forensic examination in the laboratory. We describe the design as well as its planned introduction in casework. The back-end of TraceBase is based

Palatable food alleviates stress and prevents anxiety. This study uncovers a dedicated neural pathway: dopamine release in the PFC activates D1R neurons, whose projections to the peri‐PVN engage a population of anxiolytic CRFR1 neurons. These neurons then inhibit stress‐induced hyperactivity of PVNCRF neurons, providing a circuit‐level explanation for ...

The smallest traces of crime: Trace elements in forensic science
Securing the evidence in various investigative situations is often associated with trace analysis, including fingerprints or blood groups. However, when classic and conventional methods fail, trace elements, such as copper, zinc, fluorine, and many others found in exceedingly insignificant amounts in organisms, may prove useful and effective. The ...

A TALE OF TWO TRACES – DIPLOMATICS AND FORENSICS [PDF]
This chapter focuses on two examples of legal matters involving archived data, one is a digital archive of born-analog data and the other is a digital archive of born-digital data. Their resolution is explained, and along the way, several challenges and issues related to digital archives, the transition from classical diplomatics to modern diplomatics,
