Nucleotide Sequence of the Barmah Forest Virus Genome
Barmah Forest virus (BFV) is an atypical alphavirus [Dalgarno, L., Short, N. J., Hardy, C. M., Bell, J. R., Strauss, J. H., and Marshall, I. D. (1984). Virology 133, 416-426] and has been classified as the sole known member of a seventh alphavirus serocomplex. The complete nucleotide sequence of BFV genomic RNA is 11,488 nucleotides in length excluding

ABSTRACT Gut microbiota dysbiosis promotes colorectal cancer (CRC) tumorigenesis. A global fecal metagenomic analysis identified Gemella morbillorum as a key contributor to the CRC‐associated microbiota. Fluorescence in situ hybridization revealed that Gemella morbillorum is enriched in CRC tumor tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues.

This study analyzes gut bacteria in cholangiocarcinoma patients, revealing distinct microbial signatures that enable accurate disease detection. Species‐based diagnostic models achieved over 98% accuracy in identifying cholangiocarcinoma and distinguished it from other liver diseases. The research demonstrates that specific beneficial bacteria suppress

From Trees to the Forest: Genes to Genomics
Crick, Watson, and colleagues revealed the genetic code in 1953, and since that time, remarkable progress has been made in understanding what makes each of us who we are. Identification of single genes important in disease, and the development of a mechanistic understanding of genetic elements that regulate gene function, have cast light on the ...
