Variability of sheet formability and formability testing

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2002
Abstract Testing of sheet metal formability has been a long-standing challenge because variability in test procedures and testing machines can mask material variations. In spite of the importance of such testing for manufacturing, few standards exist.

Formability of ABO3 perovskites

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2004
Abstract Regularities governing perovskite formability are investigated, by using empirical structure map methods and a total of 197 binary oxide systems. Each of the 197 systems belongs to one of the three groups (A 2 O–B 2 O 5 , AO–BO 2 and A 2 O 3 –B 2 O 3 ), and among them only 121 systems have a perovskite compound.

Local formability of medium-Mn steel

open access: yesJournal of Materials Processing Technology, 2022
Global formability and local formability are critical in different metal forming processes. Edge cracking, controlled by the local formability, is a dominant factor limiting the application of advanced high strength steels (AHSS) in automotive industries.

Formability: A review on different sheet metal tests for formability

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2020
Know-how on mechanical behaviour of sheet metal forming operations like deep drawing etc., are very much essential for quality production of articles having wide industrial and domestic applications such as automobile, beverage, aerospace and kitchenware.

Formability of Micro-Tubes in Hydroforming

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2011
Micro‐hydroforming is a down‐scaled metal forming process, based on the expansion of micro‐tubes by internal pressurization within a die cavity. The objective of micro‐hydroforming is to provide a technology for the economic mass production of complex shaped hollow micro‐components.

Formability of superplastic PbSn60 alloy

Materials Letters, 2005
Abstract The forming limit diagram of superplastic PbSn60 alloy was investigated in this paper. The superplastic sheet was bulged using dies with aspect ratios of 1:1, 15:11, 5:3 and 5:2, at the constant gas pressure and at the temperature of 293 K.
