We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Forming limit of hot-rolled high-strength steels considering sheet thickness effect [PDF]
The forming limit curve (FLC) has been commonly used tool to predict the metal forming cracking in engineering. Whereas, based on the assumption of plane stress state, the formability prediction of thick sheet of hot-rolled high-strength steels is quite ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Investigations of Roughness Evolution in Uniaxial and Biaxial Stretching of Interstitial Free - IF Steel Sheet [PDF]
The aim of work is to present experimental results for the evolution of surface roughness and waviness parameters with plastic strains in uniaxial and biaxial stretching tests of Interstitial Free-IF steel thin-sheet.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Formability study of magnesium alloy AZ31B
International audienceThe main aim of this paper is to study the formability of the AZ31B magnesium alloy at various temperature and strain rates. The tensile tests are performed to describe the rheological behavior of material, and the constitutive law ...

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...
