The algebraic structure of morphosyntactic features

open access: yesNordlyd: Tromsø University Working Papers on Language & Linguistics, 2015
The most common way of separating homophony from syncretism — which is a basic challenge for any inflectional analysis: to distinguish between accidental and systematic form-identity — is attributing only the latter to a coherent feature combination ...

Why human connection is the true metric of research success

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Interpreting the neural code with formal concept analysis

open access: yes, 2012
This contribution is in volume 1 of 3 for this title. We propose a novel application of Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) to neural decoding: instead of just trying to figure out which stimulus was presented, we demonstrate how to explore the semantic ...

Rule Acquisition in Formal Decision Contexts Based on Formal, Object-Oriented and Property-Oriented Concept Lattices

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
Rule acquisition is one of the main purposes in the analysis of formal decision contexts. Up to now, there have been several types of rules in formal decision contexts such as decision rules, decision implications, and granular rules, which can be viewed

Loss of AMBRA1 activates MAPK and angiogenesis signaling pathways in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Loss of AMBRA1 in melanoma cells activates multiple oncogenic pathways associated with tumor progression. Transcriptomic and protein network analyses revealed that AMBRA1 depletion enhances MAPK/ERK signaling, angiogenesis, TGF‐β/EMT signaling, and Wnt/axon guidance pathways.

Curbing domestic violence: instantiating C-K theory with formal concept analysis and emergent self organizing maps. [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we propose a human-centered process for knowledge discovery from unstructured text that makes use of Formal Concept Analysis and Emergent Self Organizing Maps.

Lessons learned in applying formal concept analysis

open access: yes, 2005
www.iam.unibe.ch/∼scg A key difficulty in the maintenance and evolution of complex software systems is to recognize and understand the implicit dependencies that define contracts that must be respected by changes to the software.
