Research on mixed decision implications based on formal concept analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cognitive Computing in Engineering, 2023
Decision implication is an important form of knowledge representation and acquisition in Formal Concept Analysis. Decision implication reduces the redundancy of knowledge extracted from data.

Generalized quantifiers in formal concept analysis

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2022
Usually, datasets contain imprecise data (noise), which can produce unsuspected results on the considered mappings. For instance, this can happen with the infimum and supremum operators, since both operators are straightforwardly associated with the universal and existencial quantifiers, respectively.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

A Formal Concept Analysis Approach to Cooperative Conversational Recommendation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2020
We focus on the development of a method to guide the choice of a set of users in an environment where the number of features describing the items is high and user interaction becomes laborious. Using the framework of formal concept analysis, particularly

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

On the Computation of Concept Stability Based on Maximal Non-Generator for Social Networking Services

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The concept stability measure under the Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) theory is useful for improving the accuracy of structure identification of social networks.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Characterizing Image Sets Using Formal Concept Analysis

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2005
This article presents a new method for supervised image classification. Given a finite number of image sets, each set corresponding to a place of an environment, we propose a localization strategy, which relies upon supervised classification.
