ESR1 methylation and ESR1 mutations in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and paired plasma‐cfDNA of advanced breast cancer patients: A feasibility proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...

Construction of a Unified Model for Formal Contexts and Formal Decision Contexts

open access: yesInternational Journal of Database Theory and Application, 2014
This paper mainly constructs a unified model for formal contexts, consistent formal decision contexts and inconsistent formal decision contexts based on object oriented concept lattices, which is called a consistent approximate representation space.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Supporting Student’s Thinking In Addition Of Fraction From Informal To More Formal Using Measuring Context

open access: yes, 2011
One of reasons why fractions are a topic which many students find difficult to learn is that there exist many rules calculating with fractions. In addition, students have been trained for the skills and should have mastered such procedures even they do ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Prefix probabilities for linear context-free rewriting systems

open access: yes, 2011
We present a novel method for the computation of prefix probabilities for linear context-free rewriting systems. Our approach streamlines previous procedures to compute prefix probabilities for context-free grammars, synchronous context-free grammars and

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

The identification of context-sensitive features: A formal definition of context for concept learning

open access: yes, 1996
A large body of research in machine learning is concerned with supervised learning from examples. The examples are typically represented as vectors in a multi- dimensional feature space (also known as attribute-value descriptions). A teacher partitions a

Modeling adaptation with a tuple-based coordination language [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In recent years, it has been argued that systems and applications, in order to deal with their increasing complexity, should be able to adapt their behavior according to new requirements or environment conditions.
