Nonreciprocal Swarmalators With Reconfigurable and Controllable Formations for Robot Collectives
Nonreciprocal swarmalator interactions are enabled through control barrier functions to transform self‐organizing robot collectives into reconfigurable, constraint‐aware systems. Complex two‐ and three‐dimensional shapes, continuous morphing, obstacle‐aware navigation, collective splitting, and object transport emerge from modulating agent‐level ...

Toward Mechanical Intelligence in Robotics
Robots can use their physical bodies to perform functions usually assigned to electronic sensors and controllers. This perspective defines mechanical intelligence through three core operations: filtering inputs, routing mechanical signals, and switching between states.

Model Predictive Control for Magnetically Actuated Cellbots
Magnetically actuated cellbots, formed by embedding microrobots in living cells, are steered along precise paths using a model predictive controller enhanced with a Gaussian process disturbance estimator. The data‐efficient method calibrates each cellbot individually, cutting modeling error by roughly 60% and enabling accurate navigation through cell ...

This review brings together 20 publications describing 11 robotic system families developed for instrument handling, sterile‐package opening, supply delivery, and operating room logistics. Perception is becoming more capable through deep learning and language‐guided control, but autonomy remains limited, evidence is largely laboratory‐based, and no ...

XeraBorg: Neural Control of Tail‐Flick Escape for Backward Propulsion in Cyborg Crayfish
This work presents the first controlled tail‐flick propulsion method for the cyborg Cherax quadricarinatus. Comprehensive experiments establish a foundational framework for using the crayfish's natural escape mechanism as a locomotion strategy, expanding its potential as an underwater and amphibious mobile robot.
