Formations of formations: hierarchy and stability

Proceedings of the 2004 American Control Conference, 2004
In this paper, we consider a hierarchy of vehicle formations exchanging information among themselves with the intention of completing a given mission at pre-specified coordinates in space. The objective is to understand how the communication infrastructure can be used to construct a decentralized controller and how it influences the stability of ...

Formate ester formation in amide solutions

Origins of life and evolution of the biosphere, 1988
Simple aliphatic alcohols, deoxynucleosides and nucleosides undergo reaction with formamide yielding formate esters. Formate ester formation was observed to occur slowly at 100 degrees C and more rapidly at 130 degrees C. As expected, formate esters were hydrolyzed to the alcohol and formic acid upon heating in aqueous solution.

On The Formation of Somites

1986
How do animals wiggle and bend? Throughout the animal kingdom may be found a persistent body organization of repeated metameric segments. In practically all metazoans, this meristic body pattern provides an efficient arrangement for body movement and locomotion.

Hippocampal Formation

2015
The hippocampal formation and parahippocampal region are prominent components of the rat nervous system and play a crucial role in learning, memory, and spatial navigation. Many new details regarding the entorhinal cortex have been discovered since the previous edition, and the growing interest in the area of CA2 has been covered in this chapter ...
