Kinetics for formate dehydrogenase of Escherichia coli formate-hydrogenlyase

Kinetic parameters of the selenium-containing, formate dehydrogenase component of the Escherichia coli formate-hydrogenlyase complex have been determined with purified enzyme. A ping-pong Bi Bi kinetic mechanism was observed. The Km for formate is 26 mM, and the Km for the electron-accepting dye, benzyl viologen, is in the range 1-5 mM.

Two‐Step Synthesis of a Chiral Fluorinated Alcohol With Silica‐Supported Enzyme RrADH in Batch and Continuous Flow Mode

A two‐step process was transferred from batch to flow mode for the synthesis of (R)‐2‐fluoro‐1‐phenylethanol as a benchmark, consisting of a decarboxylative fluorination in aqueous media, followed by an enantioselective biocatalytic reduction of the prochiral intermediate with RrADH immobilized on silica supraparticles.

Molybdopterin cofactor from Methanobacterium formicicum formate dehydrogenase [PDF]

The molybdopterin cofactor from the formate dehydrogenase of Methanobacterium formicicum was studied. The cofactor was released by guanidine denaturation of homogeneous enzyme, which also released greater than 80% of the molybdenum present in the enzyme.
