Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

An Improved Model to Simulate Mud (Drilling Fluid) Dispersion through Porous Media [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2010
An improved model of mud dispersion has been introduced in this work. The advantages of this model consist of a new analytical correlation for dispersivity by using resistivity log data and using a new aspect of capacitance dispersion model. Mathematical

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) and the DNA Damage Response:pATM Expression Patterns in Pre-Malignant and Malignant Keratinocyte Skin Lesions

open access: yes, 2011
Recent evidence suggests that an initial barrier to the emergence of tumours is a DNA damage response that evokes a counter-response which arrests the growth of, or eliminates, damaged cells.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Experimental Study of Matrix Permeability of Gas Shale: An Application to CO2-Based Shale Fracturing

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Because the limitations of water-based fracturing fluids restrict their fracturing efficiency and scope of application, liquid CO2 is regarded as a promising substitute, owing to its unique characteristics, including its greater environmental ...

Well-History-Based Prediction of Injectivity Decline during Seawater Flooding

open access: yes, 2005
SPE paper 93886Drastic loss of injectivity during waterflood using sea/produced water has been reported worldwide. It happens due to capture of solid and liquid particles from the injected water by the rock resulting in permeability decline, and also due

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
