Diverse Reactions of Formazanate/Formazan with Tetrylenes: Reduction, C−H Bond Activation, Substitution and Addition

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, 2023
AbstractThe reactivity of the formazanate potassium salt [LtBuK(thf)] (LtBu=PhNNC(4‐tBuPh)NNPh) with the group 14 chlorotetrylenes [{PhC(tBuN)2}ECl] (E=Si, Ge, Sn) was investigated. Three corresponding compounds with unique configurations were formed, demonstrating the diverse reactivity of the system.

Comparison of Cumulative Planimetry versus Manual Dissection to Assess Experimental Infarct Size in Isolated Hearts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Introduction Infarct size (IS) is an important variable to estimate cardiac ischemia/reperfusion injury in animal models. Triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) stains viable cells red while leaving infarcted cells unstained.

Distinct Glycolysis Inhibitors Determine Retinal Cell Sensitivity to Glutamate-Mediated Injury [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In this study, we analyzed how distinct glycolysis inhibitors influenced the redox status of retinal cells, used as a neuronal model. Three different approaches were used to inhibit glycolysis: the cells were submitted to iodoacetic acid (IAA), an ...

Methodological Standardization for the Pre-Clinical Evaluation of Renal Sympathetic Denervation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Transcatheter ablation of renal autonomic nerves is a viable option for the treatment of resistant arterial hypertension; however, structured pre-clinical evaluation with standardization of analytical procedures remains a clear gap in this field. Here we

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Synthesis and spectroscopic features of iron(II) 1-aryl-5-benzothiazol-2- ylformazanates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
New iron(II) coordination compounds with 1-aryl-5-(benzothiazol-2-yl) formazans were prepared. Their compositions and structures were determined by electronic spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, and magnetochemical

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

Synthesis and catalytic properties of copper(II) 1-aryl-5-benzothiazolylformazanates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
New copper(II) benzothiazolylformazane complexes were synthesized and immobilized on AN-18 anion exchanger. The influence of the composition of the coordination core of copper(II) benzthiazolylformazanates and temperature on their catalytic properties in
