Development of novel forming limit curve testing method

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2018
A new concept of the forming limit curve testing method has been developed for evaluating sheet metal formability. This new method complies with the current ISO 12004-2 standard, and has been verified by the numerical analysis in terms of specimen deformation, strain path characterization and lubrication effect. It combines the advantages from both the

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Investigations on the Formability of Incremental Punching Process

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2011
It was reported that the incremental sheet metal forming (ISMF) produces larger deformations as compared to the conventional forming processes. We developed a new ISMF method based on incremental punching. In this study, a theoretical method based on M-K

A Modified M-K Method for Accurate Prediction of FLC of Aluminum Alloy

open access: yesMetals, 2021
Forming limit curve (FLC) is an important failure criterion for sheet metals in sheet metal forming, while the M-K model is widely used for the prediction of the FLC.

Infrared spectroscopy of Nova Cassiopeiae 1993 (V705 Cas). IV. A closer look at the dust

open access: yes, 2005
Nova Cassiopeiae 1993 (V705 Cas) was an archetypical dust-forming nova. It displayed a deep minimum in the visual light curve, and spectroscopic evidence for carbon, hydrocarbon and silicate dust.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Study of prestrain influence for the prediction of the necking occurrence

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 1999
This paper contains experimental results for mechanical characteristics of a mild steel sheet. The determination of the forming limit stress curve for solicitation along two direction is drawn.

Secondary ageing and formability of an Al-Cu-Mg alloy (2024) in W and under-aged tempers

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2023
AA2024, a high-strength aluminum wrought alloy, is widely used in the production of aircraft components, for example, frames and stringers. While the alloy is relatively soft and formable in the solution heat treated and quenched state (W temper), rapid ...

SN 2007uy - metamorphosis of an aspheric Type Ib explosion

open access: yes, 2013
The supernovae of Type Ibc are rare and the detailed characteristics of these explosions have been studied only for a few events. Unlike Type II SNe, the progenitors of Type Ibc have never been detected in pre-explosion images.
