Goofy/123Cre lineage tracing differentiates olfactory and vomeronasal neurons from GnRH‐1 and terminal nerve neurons during neuronal migration and reveals additional olfactory placode‐derived cells in the brain

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract The olfactory placode (OP) generates a broad array of chemosensory neurons in the nasal region, including olfactory sensory neurons, vomeronasal sensory neurons, neurons of the septal organ, and Grueneberg ganglion. During invagination, the OP also generates migratory neuronal populations, including gonadotropin‐releasing hormone‐1 (GnRH‐1 ...

Un gioco da ragazze? Nuove eroine videoludiche tra realtà e idealizzazione

open access: yesStudi sulla Formazione, 2023
Videogames are a fundamental tool in shaping new generations’ collective imagination. In particular, videogames usually present limited depictions of masculinity and femininity and, for this reason, offer canonical norms concerning gender identity.

Mono‐dimensional, two‐dimensional and Doppler echocardiographic measurements in healthy Standardbred neonatal foals in the first 5 days of life

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Bodyweight, age and breed influence the echocardiographic assessment of foals. There are no echocardiographic studies in Standardbred neonatal foals. Objectives To describe echocardiographic values for selected variables, evaluate intra‐ and inter‐observer variability and assess cardiac changes in the first 5 days of life in healthy

Piezosurgical partial ostectomy of the incisive bone for an ossifying fibroma removal in a 4‐year‐old Warmblood gelding

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Ossifying fibromas are uncommon in horses and complete surgical excision with premaxillectomy, maxillectomy or mandibulectomy is recommended. Piezosurgery has been previously used in equines only in one study. Objective To report a case of ossifying fibroma treated with piezosurgery and to describe its follow‐up.

Dynamic Factor Model with Infinite Dimensional Factor Space: Forecasting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
. The paper compares the pseudo real-time forecasting performance of threeDynamic Factor Models: (i) The standard principal-component model, Stock and Watson(2002a), (ii) The model based on generalized principal components, Forni et al.

The general dynamic factor model: One-sided representation results

open access: yes, 2011
Recent dynamic factor models have been almost exclusively developed under the assumption that the common components span a finite-dimensional vector space.

Forecasting With Dynamic Factor Models Estimated by Partial Least Squares

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Dynamic factor models (DFMs) have found great success in nowcasting and short‐term macroeconomic forecasting when incorporating large sets of predictive information. The factor loadings are typically estimated cross‐sectionally with principal component analysis (PCA) or maximum likelihood (ML), which ignore whether the factors have predictive ...

Sanitation felling against the European spruce bark beetle: A matter of intensity and forest type Tagli fitosanitari contro il bostrico tipografo: una questione di intensità e tipologia forestale

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, EarlyView.
We assess the effect of sanitation felling performed in 2022 in North‐Eastern Italy on bark beetle damage that occurred in 2023 across eight spruce forest types, as evaluated using multispectral satellite imagery. Bark beetle damage was reduced only at very high or very low sanitation felling rates.
