The impact of rapid infusers on the hemostatic potential of cryoprecipitate products

open access: yesTransfusion, Volume 66, Issue S1, Page S178-S186, May 2026.
Abstract Background In cases of massive transfusion, intravenous access can be limited. Additionally, delivering different products through separate lines and infusion methods adds unnecessary steps. RBC, plasma, and whole blood (WB) are delivered via rapid infusers; cryoprecipitate (CRYO) is infused through separate access and is not approved with ...

Controlling charge injection in organic field-effect transistors using self-assembled monolayers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We have studied charge injection across the metal/organic semiconductor interface in bottom-contact poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) field-effect transistors, with Au source and drain electrodes modified by self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) prior to active ...

Should more teams “trust the process” of tanking?

open access: yesContemporary Economic Policy, Volume 44, Issue 2, Page 408-425, April 2026.
Abstract In many professional sport leagues, the worst‐performing teams receive higher probability of earning top draft picks. This provides teams incentives to purposefully lose, or “tank,” if they are not likely to contend for the playoffs or championships.

Rover‐Induced Mineral Transformations: Extent of the Effect for the Mars Science Laboratory and Opportunities for Future Landed Mission

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract X‐ray amorphous sulfate hydrates are a substantial component (up to 23 wt%) of the sedimentary rocks and sands analyzed to date by the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity rover at Gale crater. Recently, the CheMin X‐ray diffractometer observed the amorphization of the crystalline sulfate starkeyite (MgSO4 · 4H2O) upon exposure to the dry and ...

Multi‐institutional, prospective, randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled phase IIb trial of the tumor lysate, particle‐loaded, dendritic cell (TLPLDC) vaccine to prevent recurrence in high‐risk melanoma patients: A subgroup analysis

open access: yesCancer Medicine, 2021
Background Checkpoint inhibitors (CPI) in combination with cell‐based vaccines may produce synergistic antitumor immunity. The primary analysis of the randomized and blinded phase IIb trial in resected stage III/IV melanoma demonstrated TLPLDC is safe ...

Mortality Benefit of Tranexamic Acid for Hemorrhage With Concurrent Traumatic Brain Injury: Outcomes From a Prospective Cohort Study in a High‐Trauma, Prolonged Care Setting

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, Volume 50, Issue 1, Page 233-243, January 2026.
Early TXA administration (≤ 3 h) in concurrent hemorrhage and TBI was significantly associated with a 22% reduction in mortality at 7 days. TXA treatment was also associated with a significant 29% lower odds of organ failure and non‐significant 11% odds of good neurologic recovery.
