Clinical Trial: The Effects of Emulsifiers in the Food Supply on Disease Activity in Crohn's Disease: An Exploratory Double‐Blinded Randomised Feeding Trial

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 61, Issue 8, Page 1276-1289, April 2025.
Diets modelled on healthy eating guidelines, but differing in the content of emulsifiers available in the food supply, improved disease activity on sonographic criteria, Harvey‐Bradshaw Index and patient‐reported outcomes over 4 weeks in 24 patients with active Crohn's disease, with no differences according to the content of emulsifiers.

Robust CAR T‐cell expansion and superior outcomes in DLBCL patients in complete response at infusion

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
In this study, CAR T‐cell expansion and persistence were found to be comparable between CR and non‐CR groups, regardless of the co‐stimulatory domain (CD28 or 4‐1BB) or product used. Furthermore, peripheral blood kinetics—including absolute counts and proportions of total, CD4+ and CD8+ CAR T cells—showed no significant differences between the two ...

Interplay between inflammatory reflex and energetic metabolism in endotoxaemia: A role for haem oxygenase 1?

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Inflammation is vital for defence against injury and infection, but excessive inflammation can lead to tissue damage and disease. The central nervous system (CNS) helps regulate immune responses through neuroendocrine pathways, such as the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis and the anti‐inflammatory reflex, which limit systemic inflammation.

Identification of a Distal Enhancer That Regulates TGF‐β–Induced SNAI1 Expression

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
In TGF‐β–stimulated cells, the activated Smad complex composed of Smad3 and Smad4 associates with the distal super enhancer region 2 (DSE2) and enhances its interaction with the SNAI1 proximal promoter, thus inducing SNAI1 expression. RREB1 regulates the basal activity of the enhancer but not its inducibility by TGF‐β.

CXCL10 Promotes Spinal Macrophage Recruitment via the JAK/STAT3 Pathway to Induce Pain in Experimental Autoimmune Prostatitis

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 58, Issue 4, April 2025.
The CXCL10/CXCR3 axis was involved in spinal macrophage infiltration through activating the JAK/STAT3 pathway. The prostate NGF/TrKA axis was involved in the neuroinflammation and pain in chronic prostatitis, and inhibition of NGF could attenuate pain response in chronic prostatitis, which provided novel therapeutic targets for pain treatment in ...
