Recent Progress in the Preparation of Graphdiyne‐Based Materials

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Graphdiyne (GDY) has emerged as a versatile carbon allotrope for cutting‐edge applications. To fully unlock the distinguished characteristics of GDY‐based materials, precise preparation is vital for structure control, which largely shapes the materials’ properties.

Corn cob pyrolysis: A systematic literature review of methods and applications

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Mapping the research landscape of corn cob pyrolysis. Abstractas The agricultural sector is experiencing a surge in waste generation due to population growth, creating an urgent need to convert byproducts into value‐added products. Maize (Zea mays L.), a leading global crop, produces significant byproducts, such as corn cob, which are often undervalued.

Introducing a mathematical workflow for scaling‐up the cyclic solvent injection process: Experimental studies and dimensional analysis utilizing Buckingham pi theorem

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Cyclic solvent injection (CSI) is an effective enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technique with several economic and environmental benefits. However, the successful implementation of CSI at commercial scales requires reliable scaling criteria. In this study, CSI has been formulated comprehensively by integrating material balance, mass transfer, and ...

Exploring the Photophysical Processes of an Al3+ Sensor Based on Schiff Base

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
Multiple excited‐state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) processes and twisted intramolecular charge transfer (TICT) states are observed on the S1 state potential energy surface of an Al3+ sensor. The ESIPT process induces an ultrafast CC rotation process and leads to a non‐emissive TICT state.

Donor–Acceptor Interactions of C60F18 with Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons: Size Effects in Bulk Crystallization and Surface Constraints

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
Donor–acceptor (D/A) interactions between spheroidal C60F18 and three planar polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)—coronene (CORO), perylene , and pyrene—show a strong dependence on PAH size. X‐Ray diffraction reveals increasing layered stacking (either D/A/D/A or D/A/A/D/A/A).

Mechanochemical and Aging‐Based SN2 Method to Access CO2‐Responsive, High‐Amine‐Loading Chitosan

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
We report a green, scalable mechanochemical SN2 method to synthesize CO2‐responsive chitosan with a record‐high amine loading (DS up to 1.67). This one‐pot process functionalizes both amine and alcohol groups using minimal reagents and energy. The resulting biopolymer exhibits reversible pH and osmotic pressure changes upon CO2 exposure, offering a ...

Optimization of Parallel Artificial Liquid Membrane Extraction for the Determination of Over 50 Psychoactive Substances in Oral Fluid Through UHPLC–MS/MS

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
This study is related to the development of a microextraction method for the determination of 56 psychoactive substances in oral fluid. Sample clean‐up is obtained by parallel artificial liquid membrane extraction and analyzed by liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry.

Identification of neural crest and melanoma cancer cell invasion and migration genes using high‐throughput screening and deep attention networks

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Cell migration and invasion are well‐coordinated in development and disease but remain poorly understood. We previously showed that the neural crest (NC) cell migratory wavefront shares a 45‐gene panel with other cell invasion phenomena.
