Journal of Ecology, Volume 111, Issue 6, Page 1218-1230, June 2023., 2023 Our results demonstrate that soil nutrient‐based species selection is a prevalent driver of community assembly in tropical forests, a process mediated by key functional traits within the leaf and wood economics spectrum.
