Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Towards a quantum decision tree in a laser pumped four-level system

open access: yesJournal of Physics Communications
In this study, we examine an innovative framework towards implementing quantum decision trees utilizing a laser-driven four-level system. We discuss a diamond-shaped atomic configuration, in which we apply Lie-algebraic formalisms to analyze the dynamics

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Four-level pseudorandom sequences

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1967
Four-level pseudorandom sequences of 4m−1 elements are generated as the quotient of Xn+1, with n=4m−1, by a primitive polynomial of degree m over GF (4). Formulas for mean value, root-mean-square value, crosscorrelation factor and spectral density are given. A shift register, using binary operators, generating such a sequence, is represented.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
