We report on the fabrication of a solid one-dimensional microstructured fiber with high nonlinearity and low dispersion at 1.55µm. A four-wave-mixing based tunable wavelength-conversion scheme was experimentally demonstrated in just 1.5m of this ...

Cascaded four-wave mixing in liquid-core optical fibers
Ultrafast nonlinear interactions in optical fibers are commonly employed for generating light with tailored properties, with four-wave mixing (FWM) being a widely used mechanism.

A graphene‐supported 2D metal–organic network stabilizes highly reactive Fe(I)‐N4 single sites through Co‐induced charge redistribution. Combined experiments and theory reveal Fe(I) formation, oxygen‐driven oxidation, and O2 activation mechanisms, offering a strategy to access low‐valent iron centers relevant to catalytic and biological processes ...

A study is presented of four-wave mixing (FWM) in L- and C-band EDFAs. From experiments, it has been observed that FWM scales with the length of Er-doped fibre. It is shown theoretically that FWM crosstalk from EDFAs considerably exceeds that from NZDSF fibre in DWDM L-band systems and leads to a penalty of up to 1 dB in terms of the Q parameter.

Optical frequency combs generated by four-wave mixing in a dual wavelength Brillouin laser cavity
We propose and demonstrate the generation of optical frequency combs via four-wave mixing in a dual wavelength Brillouin laser cavity. When pumped by two continuous-wave lasers with a varied frequency separation, dual wavelength Brillouin lasers with ...

Multichannel wavelength conversion using four-wave mixing in semiconductor ring lasers [PDF]
We theoretically study all-optical simultaneous wavelength conversion of multiple channels by four-wave mixing in semiconductor ring lasers. Locking the semiconductor ring laser to a holding beam allows us to achieve large conversion efficiencies with ...
