Nanoscale dynamics by short-wavelength four wave mixing experiments

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
Multi-dimensional spectroscopies with vacuum ultraviolet (VUV)/x-ray free-electron laser (FEL) sources would open up unique capabilities for dynamic studies of matter at the femtosecond–nanometer time–length scales. Using sequences of ultrafast VUV/x-ray

Optical Frequency Comb Generation in Highly Nonlinear Fiber With Dual-Mode Square Microlasers

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
Optical frequency comb (OFC) generation based on four-wave mixing in highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF) is investigated using dual-transverse-mode square microlaser as a seed source.

Temporal Distribution Measurement of the Parametric Spectral Gain in a Photonic Crystal Fiber Pumped by a Chirped Pulse

open access: yesPhotonics, 2019
The temporal distribution of the spectral parametric gain was experimentally investigated when a chirped pump pulse was injected into a photonic crystal fiber.

Four-Wave-Mixing Enhancement in Optical Microfibers [PDF]

open access: yesOptical Fiber Communication Conference, 2016
Four-Wave-Mixing (FWM) is enhanced by tailoring the modal effective index in optical microfibers to improve the phase matching conditions. An enhancement of >25dB was recorded in a 6-mm-long optical microfiber.

Generation of Phase-Stable Sub-Cycle Mid-Infrared Pulses from Filamentation in Nitrogen

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2013
Sub-single-cycle pulses in the mid-infrared (MIR) region were generated through a laser-induced filament. The fundamental (ω1) and second harmonic (ω2) output of a 30-fs Ti:sapphire amplifier were focused into nitrogen gas and produce phase-stable ...

Phonon propagation dynamics in band-engineered one-dimensional phononic crystal waveguides

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
The phonon propagation dynamics in a phononic crystal waveguide, realized via a suspended one-dimensional membrane array with periodic air holes, is investigated as function of its geometry.

Photon-Pair Sources Based on Intermodal Four-Wave Mixing in Few-Mode Fibers

open access: yesFibers, 2018
Four-wave mixing in optical fibers has been proven to have many applications within processing of classical optical signals. In addition, recent developments in multimode fibers have made it possible to achieve the necessary phase-matching for efficient ...

Diffraction manipulation by four-wave mixing

open access: yesOptics Express, 2015
We suggest a scheme to manipulate paraxial diffraction by utilizing the dependency of a four-wave mixing process on the relative angle between the light fields. A microscopic model for four-wave mixing in a Lambda-type level structure is introduced and compared to recent experimental data.

Multi-Way Noiseless Signal Amplification in a Symmetrical Cascaded Four-Wave Mixing Process

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
According to the fundamental laws of quantum optics, vacuum noise is inevitably added to the signal when one tries to amplify a signal. However, it has been recently shown that noiseless signal amplification can be realized when a phase-sensitive process

Superresolution four-wave mixing microscopy

open access: yesOptics Express, 2012
We report on the development of a superresolution four-wave mixing microscope with spatial resolution approaching 130 nm which represents better than twice the diffraction limit at 800 nm while retaining the ability to acquire materials- and chemical- specific contrast.
