Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

Implantable Ionic Memristors Based on Natural Polymer Heterojunctions
We report an implantable natural polymer‐based ionic memristor composed of hyaluronic acid, chitosan, and PDMS. The device achieved 98.94% accuracy in MNIST classification while reducing training time by 36.8% compared with a conventional artificial neural network (ANN).

Phase sensitive amplification enabled by coherent population trapping
We isolate a novel four-wave mixing process, enabled by coherent population trapping (CPT), leading to efficient phase sensitive amplification. This process is permitted by the exploitation of two transitions starting from the same twofold degenerate ...

Widely Tunable Fiber Optical Parametric Oscillators With Idler Removal Filter
The properties of the singly resonant and double-pass pump fiber optical parametric oscillators (FOPO) are experimentally investigated. An idler removal filter is utilized to eliminate the idler component in a Fabry–Pérot cavity to minimize

Cascaded four-wave mixing in liquid-core optical fibers
Ultrafast nonlinear interactions in optical fibers are commonly employed for generating light with tailored properties, with four-wave mixing (FWM) being a widely used mechanism.

We present the first experimental observations of phononic four-wave mixing (FWM) in a piezoelectrically actuated free-free beam microstructure. The FWM response is facilitated by the intrinsic coupling between a driven mode and an auto-parametrically excited sub-harmonic mode.

Catalytically Enhanced Near Room‐Temperature Hydrogen Sensing Using Pd‐ZnO Colloidal Crystals
Pd‐decorated ZnO colloidal crystal monolayers demonstrate excellent performance across a wide hydrogen concentration range at 33°C, with high selectivity and reproducible device fabrication. The sensors show strong responses even at low‐ppm H2 concentrations and an ultra‐low detection limit of 82 ppb, indicating their suitability for diverse hydrogen ...

A study is presented of four-wave mixing (FWM) in L- and C-band EDFAs. From experiments, it has been observed that FWM scales with the length of Er-doped fibre. It is shown theoretically that FWM crosstalk from EDFAs considerably exceeds that from NZDSF fibre in DWDM L-band systems and leads to a penalty of up to 1 dB in terms of the Q parameter.
