Maximum-likelihood phylogenetic tree showing the relationship of Psittacine adenovirus HKU1 to other adenoviruses inferred from A) hexon protein, B) penton protein and C) polymerase protein, D) fiber-2 protein.

open access: yes, 2014
The trees were constructed using PHYML version 3 under the best-fit protein evolution model as selected by ProtTest 3. The bootstrap values were calculated from 1,000 trees.

Fowl Adenovirus Infection in Chicken: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesMicrobiology Research Journal International
The Fowl adenoviruses (FAdVs) are ubiquitous in nature and found worldwide and is often isolated from asymptomatic chickens. FAdVs are known to cause many important diseases in poultry like Inclusion body hepatitis (IBH), Hydropericardium syndrome (HPS), Hepatitis hydropericardium syndrome (HHS), Gizzard erosions (GE), Proventriculitis (PV ...

Shedding, kinetics, molecular epidemiology and improved surveillance of inclusion body hepatitis caused by fowl adenovirus type-8b in broiler chicken

open access: yes
Inclusion body hepatitis caused by Fowl adenovirus is an important disease of chickens. A major risk factor identified in this thesis was multi-age sites.

Oral inoculation of chickens with a candidate fowl adenovirus 9 vector and functional studies of fowl adenovirus 9 ORF1

open access: yes, 2015
FAdV-9Δ4, lacking six open reading frames (ORFs) 0, 1, 1A, 1B, 1C and 2 at the left end of FAdV-9 genome, shows potential as a vaccine vector. In vivo studies demonstrated that FAdV-9Δ4 does not replicate as efficiently as wild type (wt) virus in intramuscularly inoculated chickens, suggesting the important roles of the left-end ORFs.

Research Note: Rapid generation of a novel fowl adenovirus serotype 11 reverse genetic platform

open access: yes
: Fowl adenovirus serotype 11 (FAdV-11) is one of the main causative agents of inclusion body hepatitis (IBH) in broilers. Outbreaks of FAdV-11-related IBH have been increasingly reported in China and many other geographical areas worldwide. However, the

A Survey of Chicken Sera for Antibody to Fowl Adenovirus Serotypes 1 and 8, Isolated from Gizzard Erosion

open access: yes, 2007
Distribution of fowl adenovirus (FAV) serotypes 1 and 8, which were both isolated from gizzard lesion of broilers, was examined by serological tests, such as neutralization (NT) and agar gel precipitation (AGP) tests, using 1,159 sera collected from all ...

The complete genome sequence of a new fowl adenovirus (Fadv-4) strain from a recent outbreak in a chicken farm in Iran

open access: yes
The whole genomic sequence of fowl adenovirus C (FAdV-4) strain FAdV-4/Pasouk, isolated from chickens with hepatitis-hydropericardium syndrome (HHS) from an outbreak in Iran, has been deposited in GenBank under accession number ON652872.

A Loop Isothermal Amplification Assay to Detect Fowl Adenovirus -8 in a Variety of Poultry Materials

open access: yes, 2016
A variety of molecular tests to detect avian adenoviruses are available, but they are either time-consuming or not specific to Fowl adenovirus serotype 8 (FAdV-8).
