ChIP-on-Chip for FoxP3

2011
Regulatory T (Treg) cells play a key role in dominant suppression of immune response and maintenance of immune homeostasis. Foxp3, a member of the forkhead transcription factor family, is indispensable for Treg cell development and function. Mice and human with Foxp3 mutations are severely impaired in Treg cell generation and develop lethal autoimmune ...

Insights into transcriptional regulation by FOXP3

Frontiers in Bioscience, 2006
FoxP3 recently entered the spotlight as a critical component of regulatory T cell development and function. Several groups are presently engaged in an effort to uncover the mechanistic details of its contribution to this critical T cell subset. Despite this, the mechanism of FoxP3-mediated transcriptional repression and the affected target genes are ...

Persistent Enteropathy in a Toddler with a Novel FOXP3 Mutation and Normal FOXP3 Protein Expression

The Journal of Pediatrics, 2017
Immune dysregulation, polyendocrinopathy, enteropathy, X-linked (IPEX) syndrome is caused by mutations in the FOXP3 gene. Patients usually present with a clinical triad of intractable diarrhea, diabetes, and eczema. In this patient, FOXP3 protein expression was normal, but FOXP3 Sanger sequencing confirmed the clinical suspicion of IPEX by detecting a ...

Regulatory T-Cells, FoxP3 and Atherosclerosis

2009
Innate immune responses follow accumulation of modified lipids within the arterial wall thereby influencing atherosclerotic plaque progression. One of the mechanisms evolved in maintaining immunologic self-tolerance involves upregulation of regulatory T-cells, among which the CD4+CD25+ FoxP3+ regulatory T-cells (Treg) are best characterized.

Regulatory T cells sans FoxP3

Science, 2017
Immune Regulation Although expression of FoxP3 is largely synonymous with T regulatory (Treg) cell identity in mice, type 1 regulatory T cells (TR1) are an exception. TR1 cells produce interleukin-10 but are FoxP3-negative. In comparison with FoxP3-positive Treg cells, the development and functions of TR1 cells are poorly understood.

FoxP3 and Regulatory T Cells

2008
Some regulatory T cells express the Foxp3 transcription factor and such Tregs have an essential function of preventing autoimmune disease in man and mouse. Foxp3 binds to Forkhead motifs of about 1100 genes and the strength of binding increases when Foxp3-expressing T cells are stimulated by PMA and ionomycin.

FOXP3 (in)stability and cancer immunotherapy

Cytokine
Dysregulation of regulatory T cells (Tregs) is described in the context of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, and cancer. Forkhead box P3 (FOXP3) is a transcription factor that its activity is an indicator of Treg identity. FOXP3 induces metabolic versatility in intra-tumoral Tregs, so that its deficiency mediates Treg instability or even gives rise
