A Brief Survey of Paradigmatic Fractals from a Topological Perspective
The key issues in fractal geometry concern scale invariance (self-similarity or self-affinity) and the notion of a fractal dimension D which exceeds the topological dimension d.

We develop a new definition of fractals which can be considered as an abstraction of the fractals determined through self-similarity. The definition is formulated through imposing conditions which are governed the relation between the subsets of a metric space to build a porous self-similar structure.

Using Fractals in Information Hiding [PDF]
Fractals are generated by simple, recursive calculations. Encryption anddecryption algorithms that take advantage of fractals are developed. This paper presents a new approach for information hiding using iterated function system (IFS) this approach ...

Linear fractals associated with weights are investigated. Such fractals are important from a conservation law perspective that is relevant in a variety of physical systems such as materials science, sand dune fractals, barred galaxies, as well as in ...

Abstract Self-similar patterns are frequently observed in Nature. Their reproduction is possible on a length scale 102–105 nm with lithographic methods, but seems impossible on the nanometer length scale. It is shown that this goal may be achieved via a multiplicative variant of the multi-spacer patterning technology, in this way permitting ...

Explicit Spectral Decimation for a Class of Self-Similar Fractals
The method of spectral decimation is applied to an infinite collection of self-similar fractals. The sets considered are a generalization of the Sierpinski Gasket to higher dimensions; they belong to the class of nested fractals and are thus very ...

The Structure of Mn and Co Nanoparticles Obtained in Direct Surfactant Micelles [PDF]
The article deals with synthesis of Co and Mn nanoparticles in micellar aqueous solutions of cetyl pyridinium chloride. The nanoparticles (3-4В nm) and the spherical fractals (50, 150, 500 nm) have been identified with electron spectroscopy, dynamic ...
